Historical Animal Adopt-a-thon This Weekend Only

KANSAS CITY, Mo. ? It?s the first time Kansas City?s three greater-area animal shelters have teamed up for an adoption drive this weekend.

Wayside Waifs, Heartland SPCA and the Kansas City Missouri Shelter, run by the Kansas City Pet Project, all teamed up Friday for the historical event, hosted by Wayside Waifs.

Lines formed early in the morning as people waited for their turn to meet hundreds of furry friends needing forever homes.

All adoptions are $25 ? this weekend only. All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered and micro-chipped. Pets adopted through Wayside Waifs also go home with a five pound bag of food.

Adoption Hours:
Friday, March 30? 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, March 31 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, April 1 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The goal of the shelters is to have 500 animals adopted by loving people who will give the animals safe homes.
