Agilent Life Science Group (LSG) is searching for a business development expert with strong technical and business skills who can join a small team chartered to develop and execute business development planning projects that contribute to the future and continued growth of the Life Sciences business for Agilent.
The successful candidate will have a strong and broad knowledge of the life sciences market and the business to business transactions that take place within it. You will be able to rapidly grasp new market opportunities in Life Sciences as they are identified and be able to devise strategies & business plans for market entry that will deliver value to LSG in support of strategic goals.
As a key individual contributor, you will report to the Director Business Development and be a member of a team of business development and strategic marketing experts whose overall role is to expand the product and market funnel for Agilent Life Sciences Group.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Monitor business deals within the Life Science market, track deal structure and financial terms, and evaluate their relevance to Agilent\'s product portfolio and future strategy.
2. Use internal & external resources to develop market models for emerging technologies and identify business strategies for market entry by Agilent.
3. Engage with business leaders within Agilent\'s Life Science organization to understand strategic plans for their product lines and help identify opportunities for inorganic growth.
4. With the assistance of the relevant team, develop a business proposal for incoming new technology opportunities or acquisition targets identified as a good fit for LSG.
Qualifications:
? MBA or higher level degree in Chemistry/Biology preferable.
? Minimum of 8 years related experience in the bio-analytical measurement/Life science industry during which the majority of your experience involved devising business & strategic plans.
? Demonstrated experience that is relevant to Life Sciences in acquisition target &/or market opportunity evaluation, modeling and financial analysis.
? Ability to keep up with market trends and to determine how a potential new technology might fit within both Agilent and the rapidly growing Life Science Market is critical.
? Ability to understand the various LSG business unit goals and proactively identify opportunities to meet them.
? Demonstrated ability to influence project stakeholders at the senior level and create win-win partnerships.
? Experience and demonstrated aptitude both managing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives.
? Strong team player, ability to work across business functions.
? Excellent writing and presentation skills to contribute to the development of business proposals for the new opportunities identified.
